In Ghana: Facebooker Gets Political Appointment

For years, Koffi Ofosu has been one of Akufo-Addo’s leading activists on Facebook, campaigning hard and helping him secure victory in the December 2016 presidential election.

The Accra Digital Centre is a facility with the capacity to create 10,000 direct and indirect jobs at affordable rates for start-ups and emerging ICT companies.

Ofosu’s appointment was communicated to him in a letter signed by the communications minister, Ursula Owusu, and takes effect immediately.

Ofosu has received tonnes of congratulations from several members of the Ghanaian Facebook community.

In a Facebook post, he expressed gratitude to the president for the appointment.

“I’m grateful to H.E the Prez and the Hon Minister of Communication, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful for the opportunity giving me to serve as the manager of the Accra digital Centre. I’m also grateful to my Facebook family for the congratulatory messages and all the good wishes,” he wrote.
