In Rivers: Hilda Dokubo Declares War Against Ministry Of Culture & Tourism (See Video)

It was quite obvious that the new policy on entertainment and hospitality events issued by the Rivers State Ministry of Culture and Tourism was going to generate a huge agitation from the industry players.

First it was Bobby Rak, a cinematographer in the state that came out strong against the policy, and now veteran Nollywood actress Hilda Dokubo has declared war against the Ministry.

She released a short video on instagram where she out-rightly without mincing words, referred to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism River state as rouges  that don’t know the times and season.

She cited findings by International agencies that says Nigeria’s biggest economy is entertainment and not oil, and River state is trying to revamp her entertainment sector, therefore placing a regulation of this sort will slow down the pace of the industry’s development.

The River State Ministry of Culture and Tourism had on Wednesday released a communique stating that every entertainment show and hospitality event that will be held in the state as from 1 January 2017, must seek the Ministry’s written approval.
